That I’ve taken, that I’m building up for a mood board or inspiration, famous paintings, etc. I don’t rename current photos.įor art I have a tonne of images I use for reference. I will, when finalizing an album/Folder give everything a quick rename just to help identify it by eye (say uploading it somewhere or attaching to a email) 001-Smith-Wedding-1980. I’m not that bothered by naming, it’s the tags and metadata. If you want John Smith AND Sarah Smith in 1970 or ALL Family Weddings it will find it regardless of how it’s filed. I use Adobe Bridge and all the metadata is edited. So Smith might hold ‘John Sarah Wedding’ ‘1980s Cork’ ‘James Communion’ ‘Brown-Gold Album’. If I can’t I’ll try for a decade or a description of the album it came from. If I can identify an event and year then that’s where I’ll file it. Genealogy (scanning old albums and photographs) are separate. I’ll normally keep a copy of those in Photo app. I also pull together a kind of ‘highlights’ from those generic shots. If I want to see me with ears or a halo I’ll check Snapchat, if I want to see my dog sleeping upside down and being cute and stuff then I’ll go to iPhone.
#Pixave syncing archive
It’s my archive so I know what ‘Dailybooth’ means in 2009, the same way ‘Snapchat’ appears later.

It will also have ‘Snapchat’ or ‘iPhone’ or something to capture the generic day to day stuff. So 2017 will hold ‘Summer 2017’ ‘Portugal’ ‘X & Y Wedding’ ‘Botanical Gardens’ ‘Snow 2017’ (its a rare thing here!) ‘New Year’ ‘Glen October 2017’ Anything that stands out as an actual event or to qualify for a collection of photographs.
